What are Bulk Operations?

By Ryan Clinton · Updated Mar 1, 2026

Bulk Operations let you update metadata, pricing, categories, or trigger builds across multiple actors in a single action. This is the fleet-management feature that makes ApifyForge essential for developers with 10+ actors.

Without bulk operations, updating the description on 30 actors means opening 30 actor pages in the Apify Console, editing the field, and saving — a process that takes hours. With ApifyForge, you select the actors, enter the new values, and apply the change across all of them in seconds.

Common bulk operations include: updating categories when Apify adds new options (like when MCP_TOOLS was introduced), adjusting PPE pricing across a category of actors, setting consistent SEO metadata (seoTitle, seoDescription) across your fleet, updating Dockerfile base images when Apify releases new versions, and triggering rebuilds after dependency updates.

Bulk operations include a preview mode that shows what would change before applying. This is especially important for pricing changes, which trigger Apify's 14-day notice period for increases. Always preview before applying bulk pricing changes.
